Making the Most of Your Degree.

You probably already know how valuable an engineering degree is, but here are some ways you can make the most of your time in school and graduate with plenty of impressive items on your resume.
  • Participate in the Honors College: If you are eligible and choose to become an honors student, you can apply for undergraduate research grants, study abroad grants as well as help to apply for exclusive scholarships and fellowships. Honors students also receive priority registration and can live in the Honors community. Our honors program is called the Engineering Honors Program. Please visit this link for eligibility requirements.
  • Engineering Honors Program requirements: You must take a minimum of 12 hours of honors courses, of which 6 hours must be engineering honors hours. You also must do undergraduate research and thesis, and complete all departmental requirements. Please visit this link for the detailed engineering honors program requirements.
  • Understand ABET accreditation: The College of Engineering at the University of Arkansas is accredited by ABET. This is vital because ABET-accreditation is universally recognized by employers and academia. So our graduates are recognized as true engineers and command higher salaries.
  • Apply for College of Engineering scholarships: Get help paying for school from the College of Engineering or your department. One application will cover all College of Engineering and departmental scholarships. The College of Engineering scholarship deadline is March 1st. Please visit this link for more information and applications. You can email us at tic@uark.edu or give us a call at 479-575-5009.
  • Participate in cooperative education and internships: Getting on-the-job experience while you are in school is a great way to prepare for your future career. You can find co-op and internship opportunities on the Razorback CareerLink, or you can talk to our career counselor.
