Biographical Information Dr. Havens currently teaches the Department’s graduate-level courses in thermodynamics and mass, energy, and momentum transport phenomena. His primary research interests are in nuclear, biological and chemical hazard assessment, with particular emphasis on atmospheric dispersion of hazardous airborne materials and fire and explosion phenomena. He is internationally recognized as an expert in methodologies for predicting atmospheric dispersion of intentional or accidental releases of hazardous, denser-than-air gases and aerosols, and the assessment of toxicity and fire hazards which result therefrom.
Invited speaker: 50th United Kingdom Explosion Liaison Group (UKELG) Anniversary meeting on “Explosion Safety – Assessment and Challenges", 9-11 July 2013, Cardiff University, Wales, UK
