WAYS TO GIVE

Alumni of the College of Engineering recognize the power of a University of Arkansas education and they are generous in supporting the College with not only their time and expertise, but also with financial contributions.

Participate

The maxim “many hands make light work” is especially true as the College seeks to fulfill its top priorities.  Student competitions and conferences, classroom improvements, technology upgrades, and strategic support for up-and-coming faculty all require strong annual support to ensure their success.  The University of Arkansas Annual Fund is your chance to help us reach our yearly goals for excellence – and your chance to send the message that your engineering education made a difference to you and your family.  Consider making a gift – of any size – to the College of Engineering’s Annual Fund.  You can get information about how to do so at the University of Arkansas Annual Fund website today.

(And by the way, any donation you make as an alumnus of Engineering is counted toward our annual alumni participation rate.  For the financial year ending June 30, 2006, our expected participation rate is 23%.  In 2007, the College has set a goal of 25% participation, and we need your help!  Remember, whether you give $25 or $25,000, your support is a vote for the strength of the College of Engineering and our alumni network!)

Plan

Many graduates fail to consider how they could contribute to the College of Engineering with a gift in their will or other estate plans.  There are many ways you and your family can take advantage of tax laws and estate planning vehicles to ensure your legacy maximally benefits your heirs while avoiding double taxation on important assets you have earned over your lifetime.  The estate planning team at the University of Arkansas will provide you with accessible, professional and beneficial advice to Engineering graduates who would like to know more about how to strategically plan for their families’ future and whether a legacy gift to the College of Engineering is right for them.  Use the Arkanasas University Planned Giving Guide online to survey some of the options and scenarios our graduates use to achieve their financial goals.

Pass It On

As an Engineering alumnus, you know the difference an Arkansas education made in your life and career.  Consider creating a legacy of opportunity for the students who will follow in your footsteps by creating a permanent scholarship fund to support Arkansas Engineering students.  Engineering scholarships may be need- or merit-based, and may be renewable or non-renewable for an individual student, depending on your preferences.  Permanent scholarship support is one of the critical needs at the College of Engineering and our team can answer your questions about how to establish a scholarship fund that will enable future Arkansas engineers to achieve their dreams and follow in your footsteps to success in their careers and in life.  Please email Assistant Director of Development Emily Williams at ecwillia@uark.edu  for more information on engineering scholarship funding.  You may also reach us by phone at 479-575-6018.
