Unsure about which major to choose?

Don't worry about it!  You have an entire year to decide which engineering major is right for you.  In the Freshman Engineering Program, new engineering students take a common set of courses for one year.  This Introduction to Engineering introduces you to the fields of engineering and many of the modeling and problem solving techniques used by engineers. It will also introduce you to the engineering profession and some of the tools necessary for pursuing a degree in engineering.  

The course will highlight the following areas:

  • Engineering Professions: Students will learn about the history of engineering and also study the ethics and public policy involved in engineering.
  • Problem Solving Techniques
  • Engineering Design
  • Computational Tools
  • And many, many more!
