Engineering Highlights: Saturday November 18, 2006.
Get an early look at your college career.
Find out at Engineering Highlights, an event hosted exclusively for High School Seniors interested in Engineering!
What’s the point?
You know you like math and science. You know you like finding solutions to problems. And you know you’ve got to choose a college. But you don’t know what college is really going to be like and you don’t know how to find out.
That’s why the students of the College of Engineering at the University of Arkansas invite you to Engineering Highlights Saturday, November 18, at our Fayetteville campus.
What will you do all day?
There will be mingling with friendly faculty (we have an exceptionally low student-to-faculty ratio of 16 to 1) and current students (about 2,000 of us). We’ll show you around a few of our departments and around our entire campus. People from admissions, housing, scholarships and financial aid will be on hand to answer your questions. In addition, you’ll get plenty of up-close tours, including:
· our Chemical Hazards Research Center, which houses the world’s largest ultra-low-speed wind tunnel
· our world-class High Density Electronics Center (HiDEC), which houses a class 100 electronic production clean room
· many other research-specific labs and centers
What kinds of Engineering?
Your day will be full of information about each of our seven different departments:
Biological Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Computer Science and Computer Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
And if you can’t squeeze a visit on November 18th into your busy senior-year schedule, visit the schedule a tour page.
