NSF Grant Will Enhance Computing Facilities
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas has been awarded a $1.7 million grant from the National Science Foundation to enhance research computing facilities and network connections. The grant is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and is effective Sept. 1.
College of Engineering Hosts Chemical Engineering Summer Academy
Fifteen rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors from Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, North Carolina and Texas participated in the inaugural Chemical Engineering Summer Academy, held July 26-30 at the University of Arkansas.
Industrial Engineering Student Team Wins 1st Place in National Competition
The College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) and the Order Fulfillment Council (OFC) announced recently that the University of Arkansas industrial engineering student team won first place in the 2009-2010 Material Handling Student Design Competition beating out 2nd- and 3rd-place teams from Georgia Tech and California Polytechnic State University.
Engineering Professor Earns National Science Foundation's CAREER Award
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –
Chang S. Nam, assistant professor in the department of industrial engineering, has received a Faculty Early Career Development grant, also known as a CAREER award, from the National Science Foundation. Nam’s project is intended to help visually impaired students study science.
